Previously known as the New Arts Building, the building was renamed in honour of Eleanor Rathbone in 1973. It currently houses the University of Liverpool's School of Law and Social Justice and the Department of Psychology.
In this work, Simey pays tribute to "that synthesis of feeling, thought and action, that blend of social purpose with social practice, which proved so irresistible in the case of Eleanor Rathbone".
